The workshop will be held from April 16 - 18, 2007 at Wo Fo Shan Zhuang (Villa of Recumbent Buddha) inside the Beijing Botanic Garden by Xiang Shan (Fragrant Hills), about 6 kilometers from the campus of Peking University.

We can accommodate a total of about 30 participants and aim to cover the following topics:

1. Interpretation of 2D and 3D deep spectroscopy of Galactic and extragalactic planetary nebulae and H II regions at all wavebands, from the X-ray to the infrared
2. Atomic data and diagnostics
3. 1D and 3D photoionization modeling

We are also taking the opportunity of the meeting to mark the recent retirement from University College London of Professor Pete Storey, much of whose research has focussed on these topics.

Talks of short periods (15-20 mins) will be arranged around a number of themes, followed by free discussion. Potential themes include:

1) Unresolved issues affecting the interpretation of nebular spectra
2) HII regions, HII galaxies and planetary nebulae: similarities and differences
3) Deep spectroscopy: advantages and challenges for different spectral regions
4) 3D spectroscopy and 3D modelling
5) Forbidden line and recombination line abundances
6) Abundance determinations in the absence of electron temperature diagnostics
7) Atomic data: reliability and future needs for photoionization, recombination, collisional and charge exchange data
8) Temperature fluctuations, origins and effects
9) Clumps: direct and indirect evidence; new probes for their presence?
10) Modelling: effects of clumps and multiple exciting sources on the structure and spectra of nebulae

Comments and suggestions are welcome to amend items to the list.
